Ford Cargo :

The Ford Cargo van has carried cargo and families alike for more than 40 years, and it has led the segment for longer than the past two decades. The current lineup of Cargo vans is the Econoline Series. These include the base-model E-150; the E-250, the E-250 Extended, the tougher E-350 Super Duty and the E-350 Super Duty Extended.

The longest series of options found inside the Econoline’s massive interior involves seating options: 7-, 8-, 11-, 12-, 14-, or 15-passenger versions are available. Other options offered include power windows and locks, a CD player, adjustable captain’s chairs, cloth seats, and even carpeting. Air conditioning is standard even on the base model. The Econoline Cargo is available with four different engines. The 4.6-liter V8 produces 225 hp and 286 lb-ft of torque. E-350 Super Duty and Super Duty Extended models have the 5.4-liter V8 as standard. You can also go for a 6.0-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V8. All engines come with a four-speed automatic transmission. The Cargo is capable of towing up to 6,400 pounds for an E-150; E-350 Super Duty carries up to 10,000 pounds.

The E-Series isn’t the best performer when rain or snow is present. And due its large proportions, it can be difficult to maneuver in traffic. The larger engines provide adequate power, especially when unladen.

The National Highway Safety Traffic Safety Administration has awarded the E-150 five stars for its front driver and passenger side crash protection. The Cargo is a good option for those who have a true commercial-grade use for the van.
