The Standard Coupe ($19,115) is equipped with a 4.0-liter, V6, 210hpr engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. The GT Premium Convertible is equipped with a standard 4.6-liter, V8, 300hp engine. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.
The GT is equipped with four-wheel power disc brakes that are significantly larger than the 4-wheel discs used in the standard Mustang. They do a great job of stopping the car. The new Mustang's ride is far smoother than that of the old one, and the car has the ability to make you feel powerful. The vehicle offers excellent acceleration and gripping driving dynamics.
Even the least costly Mustang is fairly well-equipped with air conditioning, power windows and locks with remote keyless entry, and an AM/FM/CD sound system. The old-fashioned instrument panel and steering wheel are wonderfully designed. Nicely placed dual console cup holders help prevent spills. The trunk is decently sized for a small, sporty coupe.
The 2006 Mustang borrowed both exterior and interior styling touches from the popular 1967-70 Mustangs. The Mustang combines nifty retro styling with good performance.
