Ford F-Series :

The Ford F-150 is the best selling vehicle in America. The F-150 pickup is available in regular, extended, and crew-cab body styles. Other vehicles in the F-Series include F-Series Super Duty pickups (F-250 through F-550).

For the F-150, the base 4.2-liter V6 produces 202 hp. Two V8 engines are available: a 4.6-liter with 231 hp and a 5.4 with 300hp. A 5-speed manual transmission is now standard on V6 models. A 4-speed automatic is standard on V8 models. All models offer rear-wheel drive or 4WD. Super Duty trucks are rated to tow 17,000 pounds and are equipped with upgraded Triton gas engines. The V-8 and V-10 are now three-valve engines and both are now mated to Ford's "TorqShift", which electronically controls engine braking. This feature is especially useful in off-road environments.

Commercial trucks, represented by the F-450 and F-550, provide the greatest on-road improvement over previous models. They now boast greater front-suspension response; this is due to the move to coil springs from the more traditional leaf setup. Steering radius and lock-to-lock precision is greatly improved, thanks to a longer front axle, an extra steering gear and redesigned wheel well.

The new 2007 model of the Super Duty Truck will introduce a new twin-turbo 6.4 L twin-turbo Power Stroke Diesel V8. Ford also recently released photos of the 2nd generation 2008 Super Duty's. The vehicle has its 1st official showing at the Texas State Fair in 2006. It is currently slated for release in late 2007 as a 2008 Model.
