Is it possible to drink and drive? The answer to this often asked question is a big yes. Yes, you can drink and drive if you take a few precautions.
Many bars and public places now have installed a coin operated alcohol testers. You can use these before deciding to get behind the wheel of a car if you have been drinking. This tester will give you an idea whether your intoxicated or not. However, ultimate getting behind the wheel will be your decision. If you think you are too drunk to drive then you should avoid it under any circumstances.
Since alcohol gets directly absorbed into the blood stream, it causes many side effects. Your vision will turn blurry and your depth perception will be hampered. Alcohol will causes dizziness and forgetfulness which may make you forget the all important road rules. In the long term, alcohol can cause cirrhosis of the liver or pancreatic cancer which are both fatal.
If you have teenagers then you should make it a point to educate them about drinking and driving specially since teenagers are known to experiment with drinks. However, you should be setting an example first!
This does not mean that you should not drink. Many people have a glass of wine with meals and they do drive. The trick is to know your limits. You should not drink so much that you lose your senses completely.
