One of the biggest mistakes that a lot of car buyers make is that they only go to one dealer and that is it. They are tricked into believing that the first deal that they get is the best one, and that it is only available at this time. When salesmen try this high pressure tactic the best thing to do is walk away. If they want your business bad enough they will keep the deal on the table indefinitely.
By searching more than one dealer you will be able to do two things. The most obvious is that you will be able to get the price that you want on the car. By having two competing offers it is much better to get the best deal possible. Additionally, when you go to more than one dealer you can also make an informed decision on which one treats you better. You may want to go with the dealer that is more respectful to your needs even if you have to pay a few more bucks.
Remember, there are thousands of car dealers from one end of the country to the next. Just in your city alone there are probably plenty for you to choose from; and if not they are within a short drive. For this reason alone there is no need to stop after the first dealer that you visit. Shopping around will allow you to get the best deal possible, while also finding the best people to do business with. |
